Private Seller Returns Policy
This returns policy applies to Private Seller Listing e-Bikes only. For Approved Used e-Bike's, please see our Approved Used returns policy.
Private Seller Listing Returns Policy
Private Seller Listing Returns Policy
Private Seller Listings are sold by individual private sellers identified as 'Verified Private Seller', not by eBikeBuyer as a retailer. Because of this, private seller purchases do not include a standard “change of mind” return period.
Before purchasing, buyers should carefully review the listing description, photos, frame size, specification, condition notes, mileage, included accessories and any stated faults or marks. Buyers are also encouraged to ask any questions before committing to purchase.
No change-of-mind returns
No change-of-mind returns
Private Seller Listing purchases cannot usually be returned simply because the buyer has changed their mind, ordered the wrong size, or no longer wants the bike.
This differs from eBikeBuyer Approved Used bikes, which are sold with our 14-day returns policy and 12-month warranty.
Buyer Protection check period
Buyer Protection check period
Where a Private Seller Listing is purchased through the eBikeBuyer managed payment process, buyers are covered by our Buyer Protection check period.
From the point of delivery or collection, the buyer has 48 hours to inspect the bike and confirm that it matches the listing description.
During this period, the buyer should check:
- the bike is the correct model, size and specification
- the condition matches the listing description and photos
- the stated accessories are included, such as charger, battery keys and manuals where applicable
- there are no serious undisclosed faults or missing parts
If there is a problem
If there is a problem
If the bike is significantly not as described, damaged in transit, missing key items, or has a serious undisclosed fault, the buyer must email info@ebikebuyer.com within 48 hours of delivery or collection.
We will review the issue, request supporting photos or evidence where needed, and work with both the buyer and seller to reach a fair outcome. This may include a return, partial refund, repair contribution, or cancellation of the sale, depending on the circumstances.
When returns are not accepted
When returns are not accepted
Returns will not normally be accepted for:
- change of mind
- buyer ordering the wrong frame size
- expected wear and tear on a used bike
- minor cosmetic marks already shown or described in the listing
- range expectations, unless the battery or bike was materially misrepresented
- faults or issues disclosed before purchase
- issues reported after the 48-hour Buyer Protection check period
Return condition
Return condition
If a return is approved, the bike must be returned in the same condition it was received, with all included items, accessories, charger, keys and documents. The buyer must not continue using the bike once a return has been requested, except where necessary to identify or evidence the issue.
